A busted knee that ended a professional basketball career and a plot of land in Turkey striped with olive trees has led a Calgary man to create a thriving business connecting locals to the ingredients of a country halfway around the world.
In a small storeroom in the city’s northeast, Mustafa Cetin shows off his wares: jars of green and black olives, trays of jewel-toned dried apricots, boxes of softly scented soap and, most importantly, pallets stacked with glass bottles and three-litre cans of his olive oil.
